Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas Day! I'm sure this is the last year this will ever happen, but Daddy and Mommy both woke up before the kids. We had time to shower and get all ready before the kids got up. We set up a baby gate the night before because our kids wonder at night. We didn't want them getting up to see their presents without us!!

The kids woke up to find a white Christmas! The first one I can remember in a very long time! They were so excited. We let them open their stockings and play with their new dollhouses while we got our traditional steak and eggs breakfast ready and waited for Grandma and Grandpa Powell to come. They enjoyed showing their grandparents everything from their stockings and Lydia's new dollhouse and Isaac's new fire station. They LOVED them!

After breakfast we let the kids open their presents, they were so excited. They loved everything and would say over and over, "this is just what I always wanted!" (Even if they'd never seen it or had no idea what it was!) Grandma and Grandpa Wood came over about half way through the present opening and the kids were again so excited to show them everything they had received. It was a great morning for them!

After presents the grandparents left and we all went down for a nice family nap. The kids each picked a few toys to take to bed and cuddled them in their sleep.

When we all woke up we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Powell's house for Christmas dinner and more presents. Auntie Alanna and Uncle Eric were there as well so it was a wonderful evening spent with family. The kids LOVED their new pillow beds and have insisted on sleeping on them ever since!!!

It was wonderful to reflect on the love of our families and to enjoy remembering the birth of our Savior. We are so grateful for all that our Savior has done for us.
