Isaac and I went for a walk around the neighboorhood tonight and took some pictures of the new sprouts on the cacti in the yards around ours. Some of them the spines are soo fine that they almost look soft... but looks can definately be decieving. The smaller and finer they are the more loose they are wnd will break off and stick in you better. They are really hard to get out too!
We then ventured into our own backyard and looked at the fruit trees we have planted there. There was a lot of fruit to see and some blosoms of the fruit to come.
We found artichokes...
and pomegranets....
and figs...
and guava...
and lemons>

It may be a stark, dry and bleak area but there is still beauty to be seen if you look for it. DAD
It's a different kind of beauty than we are used to. We had an artichoke plant in CA. I'm sure that Isaac loved bing outside with you.
